In this provocative book by Dr John F. Ashton and Dr Ronald S. Laura and it is argued that it exists within Nature, clues to a philosophy in environment which have not yet been appreciated by mainstream Environmental theories. Motivated by a theological disposition for a purposively directed cosmos, the authors endeavour to show that Interconnectivity, not randomness, is the predominant creative process which defines the structure of nature. In a most Ingenious and original way the authors show that every aspect of nature can be unfolded to reveal the implicate order which governs other aspects of nature. The range of examples preferred for consideration in the book is most impressive, inviting the reader to explore issues of water quality, food production and processing, chemical and nuclear contamination, the extraction of resources from the earth and the implications of their recombinations for the future of planetary balance and sustainability. This is a monumental work of considerable environmental and Philosophical importance, and offers the reader an exciting new paradigm of ecological insight and optimism. B.
